The Passional Psalms

May 08, 2024 / Bible Study / 0 COMMENTS

Today’s Scripture
“Open up ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter” (Psalm 24:7).

Psalms 22-24 are called the Passional Psalms because they describe the last three days of the Passion Week: Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. They give us “insiders-insight” into what was really going on “behind the scenes” those three days.

There are many uses for reading the Psalms: some are wonderful for praise, many for scripture memorization, and still others help us relate to the emotions of life experiences we all face. Today’s Psalms, however, are particularly useful for the teaching of prophecy. Stand amazed as you read these Psalms written 1000 years before the events they foretold, and see if they don’t accurately describe the three-days surrounding the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Christ!
