Today’s Scripture
“In all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God” (Job 1:22).

 

 
Job was a man with a right relationship with God who refused to curse God when tragedy happened. Instead, he mourned his loss and sought the counsel of the Lord for answers to his questions. This proved to be a test as to whether his love for God depended on the blessings he received from Him. Job’s response of consistent praise demonstrated a desire to love God through all things.

 
Our afflictions (troubled times) shouldn’t divert us from loving God, but move us closer to the heart of God. Is your devotion based on what He does for you or on Who He is to you?
