A Refuge To Run To

Mar 11, 2024 / Bible Study / 0 COMMENTS

Today’s Scripture
“When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan, designate cities of refuge to which people can flee if they have killed someone accidentally” (Numbers 35:11).

Because the Levites were to minister before the Lord at the Tabernacle, they were given towns instead of cities as their apportionments. Forty-eight towns throughout the land of Israel were given to the Levites, with six of these towns designated as cities of refuge, where a person could flee had he accidentally committed murder.

When Jesus died on the cross, He called it manslaying (Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing…) instead of manslaughter so that we wouldn’t be lost forever and would have a place of refuge in which to run.
