Today’s Scripture
“Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning, as though you were waiting for your master to return from the wedding feast” (Luke 12:35-36).

 

 
Today we read a beautiful illustration of the Wedding Feast of the Lamb wherein our Jesus, the risen Christ, will honor us for all of our efforts. He himself will seat us at the table, put on an apron, and serve us as we sit and eat (Luke 12:37)!

 
The concept of the rapture is meant to encourage readiness because Jesus could return at any time. Conviction must lead us to action, for if we procrastinate, we give a foothold to indifference. Let this reminder to “keep our lamps burning” move us to prepare our hearts and lives for his imminent return.
