Today’s Scripture
“Turn us again to yourself, O God. Make your face shine down upon us” (Psalm 80:3).

 

 
Sometimes we feel as if we are far away from God. Yet, God hasn’t moved away from us, rather, we have moved away from Him. In today’s Psalms, we read heartfelt prayers for a nation – and an individual – petitioning God to change hearts so the people would love and obey Him more.

 
Within the two greatest commandments to Love God and Love People are also judgments for failing to uphold these most basic tenants. Should we fail to love God, His truth becomes hidden from us as we chase after false idols. Should we fail to love others, we find the same measure we dolled out to others is returned back to us. What idol are you chasing after? How have you failed to love your neighbor?
