A Loyal Band

Apr 20, 2014 / Bible Study / 0 COMMENTS

Today’s Scripture
“Then the men of Judah came to David and anointed him king over the people of Judah” (2 Samuel 2:4).

The group of “Thirty” was a band of loyal, fighting men that comprised David’s army. It was a technical term for a small military contingent known in Hebrew.

The mighty men demonstrated God’s provision for David as they became the tool by which (later) David and these men conquered all the land God promised to their forefather Abraham (Genesis 15:18). Extremely loyal, they risk their life for David, who loved them in return. The world needs Christians whose loyalty to Jesus is like the loyalty of David’s men. How far does your loyalty to Him go?
