An Unlikely Protector

Today’s Scripture
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).

Don’t you just love the call to faith in Joshua 1:9? Be strong and courageous, for the Lord is with you wherever you go! That promise was given to Joshua as he took over for Moses and led the people into battle taking their Promised Land. That same promise is true for us today as well.

While the promise is true that God is with us, many times in our lives we feel unsure in our decisions, we wonder what is coming next in life and are uncomfortable without answers. We want to know how things will turn out. But God calls us to a life of faith, and today we are reminded that Christians live on promises, not explanations. God often times does not tell us all the details of our circumstances because He wants us to fully depend on Him in whatever we are going through. God’s made a promise to you in His Word that corresponds to whatever you’re facing today. When you don’t have all the answers, be strong and courageous for the Lord your God is with you (ensuring your victory) wherever you go!

I love that when Moses blesses Levi, he says, “Bless all his skills, O Lord, And be pleased with the work of his hands.” Deut. 33:11

And I didn’t notice that God buried Moses!

I love God’s directive to be strong and courageous and how it is repeated throughout the years in His word. Joshua 1:9 should be a daily reminder to us that we’re never alone!
