A Threshing Floor That Stays Death

May 02, 2016 / Bible Study / 0 COMMENTS

Today’s Scripture
“I will not present burnt offerings to the Lord my God that have cost me nothing” (2 Samuel 24:24).

David is incited to take a census and neglects to collect the ransom money outlined in Exodus, which results in a 3-day plague upon the land. 70,000 lives later, the hand of the Angel of God is stayed at the Threshing Floor on Mount Moriah, the site of the future Temple of God.

Jerusalem is to be the new location for central worship in all Israel. The Lord Himself selected the Threshing Floor, which is the same location where God stayed the hand of Abraham from sacrificing his son Isaac. In response, David offered a sacrifice not only for his sin, but one as a freewill offering, in honor of God’s fellowship he knew was sure to follow. Do you allow Jesus’ blood to cover over you removing your sins and your guilt? What about freewill offerings? Are you certain of the fellowship you now can enter into with your God?
