Four Proclamations

I am the First and the Last; there is no other God” (Isaiah 44:6).

To Mind (key point):
Today we read four proclamations: one of returning home, one of coming power, one of a fallen kingdom and one of an everlasting God!

To Bind (apply to our lives):
When God says He is the First and the Last, it means he is Rishon Va-Acharon. This is the Hebrew name, which means he is bigger, greater, and beyond everything else that exists. Infinite, without limits, he is not limited by space or time or any bounds. He is excellent and exceedingly perfect. Boy, what a name!

So many great nuggets today! The longer I do this study, the more I realize how little I know. And yes, it’s scary to think how those verses in Is 47 sound like America. I read and I wonder of our future as a nation and a people.

I’ve heard differing opinions of where America fits into prophesy and I don’t know what to believe. But praise God, He alone is our righteousness and our strength! Regardless what happens, our hope is in Him alone. Not the government, not the political party, not in bank accounts or houses or jobs. Not in wars or might among the nations.

He is our righteousness and our strength. And He’s all we need for whatever lies ahead.

Loved the meaning of the Hebrew name “Richon Va-Acharon”!! Wow, as you said what a name!!! No putting God in a box with that name (Beyond everything else that exists, not limited by space or time). Love the way he follows up that name with “do not be afraid” in verse 8. What a loving God we have!
