Today’s Scripture
“So there at Hebron, King David made a covenant before the Lord with all the elders of Israel. And they anointed him king of Israel (2 Samuel 5:3).

 

 
In today’s reading, the elders anointed David king over all Israel. This was the third time in his life he had been anointed king. After seven years reigning in Hebron as king of Judah, God’s Word is fulfilled as David becomes king of all Israel.

 
Scripture gives us deeper insight into these events as it describes, “just as the Lord had promised through Samuel (1 Chronicles 11:3).” This was a fulfillment of God’s Word and Plan. It was carried out in God’s divine timing. What promise are you waiting for God to fulfill and will you be patient to let God fulfill it in His time?
