Shipwrecked

Dec 05, 2017 / Bible Study / 0 COMMENTS

Today’s Scripture
“The next day, as gale-force winds continued to batter the ship, the crew began throwing the cargo overboard. The following day they even took some of the ship’s gear and threw it overboard. The terrible storm raged for many days, blotting out the sun and the stars, until at last all hope was gone” (Acts 27:18-20).

This is a picture of Paul’s “cruise tour” to Rome. What a cruise! Battering a hurricane for two weeks, those on board ate little if anything and threw their possessions overboard to try to survive! At one point, they lost all hope of living through the ordeal!

Three times Paul had been shipwrecked in the name of Jesus during his missionary journeys. In every place, we see him witnessing, demonstrating how to live out faith in God in the midst of great difficulty.
