A Sabbath Rest

Today’s Scripture
“King Nebuchadnezzar had told Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, to find Jeremiah. “See that he isn’t hurt,” he said. “Look after him well, and give him anything he wants”… So Jeremiah stayed in Judah among his own people” (Jeremiah 39:11-12, 14).

After a long life of serving God, God gives Jeremiah his life as a reward and allows him to stay in Judah, averting the exile to Babylon. Bablyon’s destruction of Jerusalem was complete and the exiles were in route.

What did the Lord have to say at the time of the exile? “I warned them and they scoffed” (2 Chronicles 36:15-16)! How do you respond to the Lord’s clear and repeated warnings in your own life?
