Praying for Wisdom

May 20, 2017 / Bible Study / 0 COMMENTS

Today’s Scripture
“Because your greatest desire is to help your people and you did not ask for wealth, riches, fame or even the death of your enemies or a long life, but rather you asked for wisdom and knowledge to properly govern my people – I will certainly give you the wisdom and knowledge you requested” (2 Chronicles 1:11).

Today, in our reading, Solomon takes his rightful place on the throne. Son of David, appointed by God to reign, he begins making wise political moves, the start of a forty-year reign of peace for Israel.

God delights in intercession – when we selflessly come before Him, asking Him to use us in greater ways for His glory and the benefit of others. Solomon prayed for wisdom so he could govern the people in Truth. How long has it been since you asked the Lord for wisdom?
