Today’s Scripture
“I will send you to the pit to join those who descended there long ago. Your city will lie in ruins, buried beneath the earth, like those in the pit who have entered the world of the dead. You will have no respect here in the land of the living. I will bring you to a terrible end and you will exist no more. You will be looked for, but you will never again be found” (Ezekiel 26:20-21).

 

 
The Scripture above was written about no human being, but rather one created angel who chose to rebel against God. Once a beautifully adorned creature ministering at the throne of God in heaven, pride welled up within him until it consumed and overtook him. Desiring to be God and be worshipped as God, he fell and became forever known as the devil.

 
If you’ve ever wondered if the devil is real or what will become of him, today’s lesson will enlighten you to the truths behind his past and his future. Believe and beware, for the devil is real, yet he is not to be feared, for he is a created being and no match for Jesus, Who will at a future time, send him far away to tempt us no more.
