The High Priestly Prayer

Oct 31, 2014 / Bible Study / 1 COMMENTS

Today’s Scripture
“My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because they belong to you. All who are mine belong to you, and you have given them to me so they bring me glory” (John 17.9-10).

At the conclusion of the last supper before crossing the Kidron Valley into the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prays the longest recorded prayer we have in the Bible. In it, He prays for Himself, for His disciples and fellow believers, as well as, for future believers, you and me.

During Jesus’ life on earth, He demonstrated through his words and actions that children of God were to live lives of love. Bound by love, they are to be motivated, directed and controlled by love of God and love for others. In your life, is it evident to the world that you live by love?
