Today’s Scripture
“It was God who sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives” (Gen 45:5).

 

 
The certainty of God’s purpose, not man’s will, is the controlling reality in every situation. This truth can bring us to more easily offer forgiveness to others and maintain inner peace knowing that things will work out for our good.

 
Joseph’s assurance to his brothers that God sent him ahead of them was certainly a recent conclusion for him. While his faith kept him going through the tough times, he could now see God’s intervening hand in the troubled events of his past. Can you perceive the hand of God in your circumstances?
