Today’s Scripture
“These were the kings who ruled in the land of Edom before any king ruled over the Israelites” (Genesis 36:31).

 

 
We see from the list of kings in Edom that not a single one was succeeded by a son. This is in contrast to the perfection of God’s establishment through the kingly line of Judah in which every king comes from the royal house of David!

 
Secular, worldly greatness comes swifter than spiritual greatness. It takes time to mold character and change hearts. How much time do you spend cultivating a heart for God, that is, spending time on your “inner man?”
