Created as Cloth

Aug 09, 2017 / Bible Study / 0 COMMENTS

Today’s Scripture
“As a loincloth clings to a man’s waist, so I created Judah and Israel to cling to me, says the Lord. They were to be my people, my pride, my glory – an honor to my name” (Jeremiah 13:11).

In today’s reading, God asks Jeremiah to demonstrate another spiritual truth using a physical example. He is told to wear a white linen cloth, then take it off and bury it deep in the mud. Much later, God said to reclaim this item, which Jeremiah found rotting and falling apart. It was no longer of good use.

Do you know you have a special identity? You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God (1 Peter 2:9). You were created as cloth – to cling to the Lord all your days, to be his pride and glory, to bring honor to his name. How clean is your cloth?
