Today’s Scripture
“They remained standing in place for three hours while the Book of the Law of the Lord their God was read aloud to them” (Nehemiah 9:3).

 

 
Can you believe a worship service that took over three hours… followed by a voluntary service of repentance, confession and worship that lasted yet another three?! This is what we read about today as the people respond to the hearing of the Word of the Lord. Their hearing prompted a willing response to make multiple vows of commitment.

 
There is a difference between commitment and action, between reading the Word and applying it to our lives. If you were to write down willing vows of commitment to the Lord, what do you think He would want you to include?
