Building a Temple

May 21, 2015 / Bible Study / 2 COMMENTS

Today’s Scripture
“If you keep all my decrees and regulations and obey all my commands… I will never abandon my people Israel” (I Kings 6:12-13).

Solomon reigned 40 years during a time of peace and prosperity. It was the golden age for Israel. Today, he begins work on the construction of the Temple, which took 7 years to build.

Today’s reading shows us the fulfillment of God’s promise that Solomon would be king and would build a Temple, where God would dwell. It was strikingly beautiful, twice the size of the former Tabernacle. This temple is the first of three Temples to be built at Mt. Zion on Temple Mount.
