Today’s Scripture
“My witness is in heaven. My advocate is there on high” (Job 16:19).
We have an Advocate who sits at the right hand of God in heaven, Who lives to intercede for us. This Advocate makes us friends with God and makes it possible for us to live at peace with God. One day, Jesus Christ, our Advocate, will both judge and defend us in righteousness on Judgment Day, providing covering for our sins, which will be forgotten and remembered no more.
God demonstrated the value of intercession in the giving of His Son to live and die as a sacrifice for our sins in order that we might be reconciled to God. Intercessors are valued highly by God. How much time do you spend interceding for the lives of those around you?

I am staying out of town with friends. One has recently moved from atheist to agnostic, saying that she is no longer quite as sure of God’s non-existence. (Praise!!) She and her husband are two of the most generous, loving, encouraging intercessors and advocates that I have ever known. They, whether they know it or not, are doing God’s work in a tremendously impactful way. Please pray the i will be used as an ambassador for our Lord during this time together, and that my friend will soon hear God’s undeniable call to her to accept His invitation into relationship with Him.
