Today’s Scripture
“Ben-hada’s officers said, ‘The Israelite gods are gods of the hills, but we can beat them on the plains'” (1 Kings 20:23).

 

 
Israel was in crisis. Ben-hadad had mustered the alliance of 23 kings to come against the nation of Israel. Yet through a prophet, God commanded Israel (the Northern Kingdom) to send out their youngest troops into the battle. God gave them the victory. Why do you suppose after all the idolatry, did God give them the victory?

 
God’s goals are not always our goals. God wants all nations to know him and He wants to display His great strength and might in a big way. Often times He puts us in hopeless situations to display His great strength when He pulls us out!
